FollowMe with enhanced color access control helps organizations realize greater savings
BURGESS HILL, United Kingdom, 19th July 2007. In response to customer requests to further reduce print and copy costs, Ringdale, the pioneer and leader in secure document output management, has enhanced color access control technology in its latest version of FollowMe, to help organizations realize even greater savings on toner and paper.
FollowMe 5.0, the newest update to Ringdale’s FollowMe secure document output management solution, provides stricter control of user activity to a more granular level. Through its integral policy and rules-based printing engine, FollowMe enables organizations to control how every page in every document is printed for accurate accounting and reporting of output activity.
With FollowMe 5.0, customers can easily analyze cost and usage of color vs. black and white output on a per user or per device level. In addition, customers can create detailed reports and comparison charts of users and devices on such statistics as simplex vs. duplex, economy mode vs. high quality print, cost centers and departments.
Incorporated with FollowMe’s policy and rules-based printing engine is a powerful security engine that provides confidential, roaming printing in a “best of breed” office environment, independent of the make or model of output device. FollowMe integrates with any existing access control method for user identification and authentication, including PIN codes, barcodes, proximity cards, magnetic swipe cards and biometric fingerprint readers. Jobs are printed only after users walk up to the output device of their choice and authenticate themselves, which releases the job.
To leverage the capabilities of today’s multifunction printers (MFPs), FollowMe 5.0 integrates easily in an embedded configuration to deliver copy, print, scan, fax and digital sending control and management in an all-in-one solution.
